An early fall walk at the
Carl Sandburg Farm!

Saturday Sept 12, 9:00am

Come, enjoy this beautiful farm named "Connemara".  Sandburg and his family lived here from 1945 until his death in 1967. His wife then sold the property to the US Government so it, and the poet's belongings could be preserved for future generations.

We'll be passing the poet's home, and the goat barn which houses goats representative of the original championship dairy herd kept by Mrs. Sandburg.

The long route will then climb up "Big Glassy" for wonderful views of the Pisgah Range. After descending, we will head into the Village of Flat Rock, where you'll find interesting shops and restaurants.

We'll be meeting at 8:30 - at the Hendersonville Alternate Start Point to register and carpool to the farm.

For more information and driving directions,
